Oscar Best Picture Nominees Noughties

From the decade that witnessed 'Lord of the Rings - Return of the King' scoop up all its 11 academy award nominations, enjoyed our comprehensive selection of all Oscar Best Picture Nominees 2000 - 2009.

List Of 2003 Family Films

Something about early noughties family films feels just that bit more wholesome. 'Finding Nemo', Lord of the Rings: Return of the King', 'Elf', see what we mean?

List Of 2003 Action Films

This year's action is decidedly adventure orientated. With a bit of 'Bad Boys II' for good measure.

Sir Ian McKellen Movies

YOU SHALL NOT PASS…. up the opportunity to check out this complete collection of Sir Ian McKellen's leading roles. Although our generation know him from a variety of venerable, silver-haired roles, make sure to check out a young Ian in films like 'Macbeth' (1979), 'David Copperfield' (1982), and 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' (1982). Gandalf was a stud!

Viggo Mortensen Movies

People who though Mortensen's career had peaked with LOTR were in for a pleasant surprise when he came out with 'A History of Violence' in 2005 and 'Eastern Promises' two years later. Fun fact: Old Viggo is also an accomplished painter, musician, and poet!

Elijah Wood Movies

If you haven't seen 'Green Street' or 'LOTR' yet we recommend you watch the former first and the latter second, as it does feel a little odd seeing Wood pummel his way around East London after having been introduced to him as a tousle-headed, emotionally fragile half-man. Other than that, make sure to check out his role as a Church sanctioned cannibal in 'Sin City'. Creepy!

Sean Astin Movies

The man with the kindest face in Hollywood. We literally can't imagine a better Samwise - our only question, has he ever done a road-trip with Elijah Wood to a famous volcano? We can only hope.

Orlando Bloom Movies

Why is it so hard to see Orlando Bloom's subsequent characters as anything other than Legolas pretending to be a human? All we know is that the constant expectation that he'll pull a longbow out makes concentrating on the remainder of his filmography rather difficult.

Orlando Bloom with a Sword

Relatively self-explanatory. All movies featuring Orlando Bloom brandishing a sword, including 'LOTR', 'Kingdom of Heaven', and 'Troy'. And yes, to preempt all you ill-informed pedants out there, Legolas does use a sword in some battle-scenes, not just his bow.
